Childless marriage constitutes one of the crucial and urgent challenges to marriage and family pastoral ministry among the Igbo people, because it gives rise to the problems that could jeopardize the future of Christian marriage if not adequately addressed. The research is convinced that the pastoral solutions employed so far to address the issue are not adequate. More adequate would rather be a solution which would involve a profound inculturation of the Christian faith capable of putting the value of offspring in the right perspective by reducing the problem of lack of offspring in marriage. This would require overcoming the conflict between traditional culture and the Christian vision of marriage, which the research places at the root of the pastoral problem.
